Retracing. How Does Compensation Create the Need for Your Body to Retrace?

The moment you were conceived, your body began to compensate.

While you were a fetus, your brain and nervous system recorded every emotion and physical experience your mother experienced.

This affected how you developed.

Just as an adult today, your central nervous system compensates.

Your central nervous system has two separate branches.

1) The sympathetic which helps to deal with fight or flight stress by secreting chemicals that make you body tense.

2) The parasympathetic which secrets chemicals that helps your body relax and heal.

Your Central Nervous System

When your mother was happy your parasympathetic nervous system helped your body be peaceful and relaxed and made a recording (imprint) on your brain in the form of happy neurons.

When your mother was unhappy or fearful your sympathetic nervous system responded by creating tension and releasing cortisol and other chemicals as a response to stress.

This caused your muscles to spasm on a sub-clinical level where you weren’t aware of symptoms.

If your mother had complications during your time as a fetus, your body recorded all of her tension, fear and stress, causing your body to compensate.

During your birth, all of your mothers experiences were imprinted on your brain and central nervous system, fear, pain, sadness releasing chemicals causing your body to compensate.

How your mother nourished herself directly affected your experience as a fetus.

If your mother eat a high quality diet, you benefited accordingly.

If your mother smoked, abused alcohol or drugs, your nervous system compensated.

As you were growing up, all of your experiences were recorded onto your brain and central nervous system.

When you experienced happiness and joy, your parasympathetic nervous system bathed you with happy chemicals and created happy neuron connections in your brain.

When you experienced fear and pain, your sympathetic nervous system compensated by flooding your body with cortisol and other chemicals and creating unhappy neuron connections causing your muscles to spasm.

Bruce Lipton, PhD in his book, “The Biology of Belief”, tells us that the environment that we are exposed to (beginning as a fetus) and our response to that environment, determines our health and longevity.

The authors of “What the Bleep do we Know” suggest that from our conception, our bodies are constantly undergoing a state of compensation based upon our experiences.

In, “Chinese Medical Qi Gong Therapy: A Comprehensive Text”, Jerry Alan Johnson, PhD, tells us that on an energetic level, holes may be created in our body’s external Qi field, causing our immune system to be compromised from both physical and emotional experiences.

In Louise Hay’s book, “You Can Heal Your Life”, she helps us understand how our experiences, positive or negative, greatly affect our physical body.

As you age, you are constantly bombarded with various stress which cause your body to compensate.

You receive stress from several factors, including;

  • eating low quality food
  • not getting enough exercise
  • not hydrating your body with clean water
  • improper ergonomic work environment
  • not receiving the proper amounts of nutrition from the food you eat
  • being unhappy, anxious or fearful
  • being married
  • having children or grandchildren
  • dealing with elder-care issues
  • financial insecurity
  • worry and frustration
  • injuries, broken bones, etc.

...and many more.

Like it or not, your body is silently, automatically, compensating 24/7.

The good news is that your body is a self-healing miracle.

Your nervous system automatically adjusts, biochemically, for various stress.

This is why you may not have symptoms for years.

Your body has a built-in healing system based upon chemical reactions to your experiences.

However, over time, your ability to heal yourself may become exhausted or diminished due to your lifestyle and many other factors.

As your body’s ability to self-heal becomes exhausted, your receive warnings.

Warnings are like the red light coming on in your car.

Warning signs (symptoms) may include;

  • neck pain headache
  • muscle aches and pain
  • indigestion
  • insomnia (inability to sleep)
  • difficulty controlling emotions
  • diabetes (high blood sugars)
  • heart attack symptoms
  • asthma
  • high blood pressure (aka hypertension)
  • depression
  • restless leg syndrome
  • chronic cold and flu symptoms
  • thyroid malfunctions
  • Temporal Mandibular Joint (aka TMJ pain)

...among many others.

Initially, you don't know that your body’s ability to heal is compromised, so you take measures aimed at quickly relieving your symptoms.

Thinking that it's just a minor issue, you reach for over-the-counter medications, such as;

  • Mucinex or Ponaris nasal decongestants for colds

  • Alka-Seltzer, Maalox or Mylanta for indigestion

  • NSAIDS (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like Aspirin, Advil, Motrin or Aleve) and Acetaminophen (Tylenol or Panadol) for arthritis joint aches and pains.

And they help, for a while.

However, over the course of months or years, the ability of the over-the-counter medications to give you relief subside and your symptoms become worse.

You present to your Medical Doctor.

Your Medical Doctor prescribes stronger medications, such as:

  • Vicadin, Humira or Hydronocodone to relieve arthritis joint pain
  • Ambien to relieve insomnia
  • Metformin, Actos or Glucophage to reduce blood sugar in Type 11 Diabetes
  • Hydrochlorthiazide, Norvasc, Prinivil or Zestril to reduce blood pressure
  • Nexium or Prilosec to alleviate indigestion
  • Singulair or Advair Diskus to help with asthma symptoms
  • Seroquel or Abilify to relieve depression
  • Synthroid to correct thyroid malfunction

These help, for a while.

However, medications have side-effects and your body creates more layers of compensation in response to your medications.

Side-effects of medications may lead you to yet more medications to relieve your additional symptoms which create more layers of compensation.

Over time, you have created multiple, dense layers of compensation that has lead to your body’s inability to self-heal.

You’ve tried everything and anything to relieve your symptoms;

  • over-the-counter medications
  • prescription drugs
  • psychiatry
  • physical therapy
  • acupuncture
  • surgery

...among many others.

But your symptoms persist because you haven’t been able to remove the cause/core of your symptoms.

Layers of compensation can be compared to the layers of an onion.

Retracing is the act of peeling away layers of compensation, physical and emotional, that you have accumulated since your conception.

How many layers do you need to peel away to get to the cause/core of your symptoms?

After Traditional Medicine Protocols Have Failed, How Can You Peel Away These Layers of Compensation (Retracing) Safely and Naturally?

One way is by choosing an integrated, multi-disciplined approach, such as Non-Force Chiropractic care combined with alternative therapies, such as; will remove the cause/core of your symptoms safely and naturally by shifting your nervous system into the parasympathetic side.

Another way is by becoming an active part of your healing process, implementing various self-care techniques into your lifestyle, such as; will permanently remove the cause/core of your symptoms safely and naturally.

If you were able to Retrace back to a normal life without symptoms, how would your life be different?

What Symptoms May You Expect During Retracing, if Any?

Depending on your body, you may experience several different symptoms during Retracing, such as:

  • No change in symptoms for a couple of visits
  • Pain in a different part of your body than where your chief complaint was located
  • A short-term headache
  • Increased pain in your area of chief complaint possibly associated with an old injury resurfacing
  • Dizziness
  • A sense of exhaustion and being excessively tired
  • Deep, relaxing sleep
  • Increased energy
  • An improved sense of balance
  • A more positive mental attitude
  • Becoming more in touch with your body
  • Feeling like you are walking on the ground more solidly

...among many others.

You may experience highs and lows as you Retrace.

How Long Will My Retracing Process Take?

The more layers of compensation your body has acquired, the longer your Retracing process may take.

On average, you may require between five to ten treatments to get to the cause/core of your symptoms.

Usually, you will notice significant changes within the first two or three treatments.

However, you need to be patient.

Your body took years to accumulate your layers of compensation, you may need a few weeks to Retrace.

Once you have Retraced to your natural state of homeostasis, you may want to consider customized, prescribed self-care techniques to help you continue to heal, maximize your immune system and eliminate your symptoms permanently.

By becoming actively involved in your healing process, you will shorten your period of Retracing and lengthen your long-term outcome.
